1. Overview
All items stored at Loomis Vault are fully insured from the moment of accepted deposit to the moment of confirmed delivery or collection. This comprehensive coverage is included as part of your storage agreement at no additional cost.
Our insurance programme is designed to provide complete peace of mind, ensuring that your valuables are protected against all foreseeable risks while in our care. Coverage is continuous and uninterrupted throughout the entire storage period and during any authorised transit.
Coverage begins the moment your items are accepted into our vault and remains active until confirmed delivery to your hands via OTP verification.

3. Coverage Levels
We offer four tiers of insurance coverage to suit the value of your holdings:

Coverage level is determined by the declared value of each item at the time of deposit. Your Account Manager can advise on the appropriate level for your holdings.
4. What's Covered
Our comprehensive insurance policy covers loss or damage arising from:
5. Exclusions
The following are excluded from standard coverage:
Separate terrorism cover is available upon request at additional cost.
Including nuclear reaction, radiation, or contamination from any nuclear fuel or waste.
Natural ageing, oxidation, or deterioration over time is not considered damage.
All items must be properly declared and documented upon deposit.
Intentional destruction or damage by the depositor or their agents.
Seizure, detention, or confiscation by any government, customs, or regulatory body.
Coverage is capped at the declared amount. Under-declaration limits claim settlement.
6. Claims Process
In the unlikely event of a claim, our streamlined process ensures rapid resolution:
Notify Loomis Vault
Contact your Account Manager or our claims team within 24 hours of discovering the loss or damage.
Complete Claims Form
Your Account Manager will provide the official claims form with guidance on completion.
Provide Supporting Documentation
Submit professional valuations, purchase receipts, photographs, and any other relevant documentation.
Lloyd's Assessor Review
An independent Lloyd's-appointed assessor will review your claim within 5 business days.
Settlement Offer
A formal settlement offer will be presented within 10 business days of the assessor's report.
Payment
Upon acceptance, payment is made within 3 business days to your nominated account.
7. Valuation Requirements
Accurate valuation is essential for appropriate insurance coverage:
- Items valued up to £50,000: Client self-declaration accepted with supporting documentation (receipts, certificates)
- Items valued over £50,000: A professional valuation from a recognised appraiser is required
- We recommend annual revaluation of all stored items to ensure coverage reflects current market value
- Loomis Vault can arrange independent valuations through our network of certified appraisers upon request
Important: In the event of a claim, settlement will be based on the declared value or the professional valuation on record, whichever is lower. Ensure your valuations are current.
8. Certificate of Insurance
A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request for any or all of your stored items. The certificate confirms:
- Policy number and underwriter details
- Items covered and their declared values
- Coverage period and renewal date
- Perils insured and applicable exclusions
- Claims contact information
Certificates can be requested through the Client Portal or via your Account Manager. Digital certificates are issued immediately; physical copies are dispatched within 2 business days.
10. Policy Renewal
Your insurance policy is automatically renewed monthly in conjunction with your storage agreement. Coverage is continuous and uninterrupted unless:
- You terminate your storage agreement (coverage ceases upon confirmed collection of all items)
- The Company terminates the agreement (90-day collection period applies with continued coverage)
- Items are shipped and successfully delivered (coverage ceases upon OTP confirmation)
No action is required from you to maintain coverage. Your Account Manager will notify you of any changes to coverage terms at least 30 days in advance.
